Queer is a political alternative to mainstream lesbian and gay cultures. Queers challenge the status quo, going beyond the rigid gender and sexuality categories that we are supposed to fit into. Queers see a world beyond assimilated consumption-driven gay lifestyles and know stuff about, or are interested in knowing stuff about: recycling, Palestine, health and globalisation. Queers are non-judgemental. Queers share their skills, keep their minds open, chip in, listen, celebrate, fight for liberation, bake and dance.
